Stories are central to human connection.
They convey meaning and purpose and help us understand ourselves and the world around us. Through stories we experience a wealth of emotions; happiness, success, sadness, failure.
But when stories are hard, we often lock them away, and in doing so, we feel shut off and isolated.
Touch exists to unlock these stories.
We validate emotions, experiences and life’s challenges. We create a safe space to share, free of stigma. Through sharing, we often find feelings of depression and anxiety are lessened. Knowing others have experienced similar issues, and that these can be overcome, helps to provide hope. We aim to inspire hope in both storytellers and guests, and to put a spotlight on the power of human connection and resilience.
Through sharing and celebrating our personal stories of resilience, Touch aims to prevent struggles with mental wellbeing beginning, or getting worse. We use these stories to enable change for the better in our communities, and in NHS and social care settings.
I feel very inspired and uplifted, it has made me want to go away and review my own story and move forward positively.Rachel - Touch Network SpeakerShow Your Support
