We provide a face-to-face and/or zoom development programme enabling practitioners to have the knowledge, skills, tools and inspiration to improve their services through storytelling
Critical Friend Service.
We offer a critical friend service to leadership teams and practitioners with the focus of ensuring patient stories are at the heart of all they do
We provide bespoke storytelling transformation services as a response to identified need
As policy develops on the use of stories for mental wellbeing, senior decision makers across the NHS and Social Care are enthusiastic to work with Touch to learn from our expertise in this area, as well as understand the wants and needs of the local community.
Through partnership, our goal is to improve services and patient experience through storytelling, and provide help, support and wellbeing outcomes in a more subtle, everyday, non-institutional way.
Further information on the benefits of storytelling within NHS and Social Care settings can be found here.

Ideas for Wellbeing is a research project launched in November 2017, commissioned by the Integrated Commissioning Unit in Southampton. The project has been delivered by Touch Network, in partnership with Healthwatch Southampton.
The aim of the research was to understand the key drivers for happiness, how we can create ‘better days’ for all within the community, and use this information to improve the design and the delivery of mental health services across Southampton. From a sample of 769 people, we learnt very clearly what was not working in the mental health space, and we began to build a better picture of how this could be remodelled to better serve the needs of the county.
Leadership for Empowered and Personalised Communities is an educational programme for NHS and Social Leaders. The programme seeks to create a network of leaders committed to radical change and reform in the health and care system. Touch Network is a proud to be a delivery partner for the programme. We work together with the Coalition for Collaborative Care, NHS Leadership Academy and In Control to champion community wellbeing and co-production in order to transform the services where participating leaders live and work.
The programme develops leaders to put the community at the heart of their strategies. Through strengthening integration and partnership between health and social care organisations, leaders learn to work across boundaries, make connections and facilitate the ‘emergence’ of local, co-produced plans and solutions.
Participants learn how to build strong, healthy and empowered communities, understand how to implement personalised care and will bring new skills, knowledge and innovation back into their workplace and communities.
