Friends laughing and looking at a tablet

Debs Carter set up Touch based on her own real life experiences, which she often shares about. Debs was a ‘revolving door’ mental health patient, she spent years of her teenage life in mental health hospitals with a nurse by her side every second of the day to keep her safe from herself. Much of Debs difficulties resulted from a difficult childhood and Debs had turned these experiences into hate for herself. Debs was lucky enough to go to a community hospital where she could build friendships with others in similar situations. Debs soon found out that she wasn’t the only one with a story! The experience of hearing other people’s stories unlocked Debs to be able to share her story and was a key factor in her recovery. Debs is well and happy now and is focused on the mission of telling stories and touching lives!
